This Risk Disclosure ("Disclosure") describes important risks associated with accessing or using CrypTap's website, hardware devices, APIs, merchant dashboards, software applications, blockchain interaction systems, smart contract infrastructure, payment-intent systems, operational wallet infrastructure, wireless communication systems, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
Blockchain technology, digital assets, decentralized systems, smart contracts, hardware devices, locally generated cryptographic infrastructure, wireless communication systems, and non-custodial payment infrastructure involve substantial technical, operational, cybersecurity, financial, and regulatory risks. By accessing or using CrypTap, users and merchants acknowledge, understand, and accept the risks described in this Disclosure.
1 No Guarantee of Profit, Value, or Adoption
Digital assets are speculative and highly volatile. CrypTap does not guarantee profitability, preservation of value, adoption of any blockchain network or digital asset, merchant acceptance, transaction success, or uninterrupted platform functionality. CrypTap does not provide investment advice, financial recommendations, brokerage services, or trading recommendations. Users may experience partial or total loss of digital assets.
2 Irreversible Blockchain Transactions
Blockchain transactions are generally irreversible once confirmed on-chain. Transactions initiated through CrypTap typically cannot be canceled, reversed, recovered, or modified after blockchain confirmation. Sending assets to incorrect wallet addresses, unsupported blockchain networks, incompatible wallets, or compromised addresses may result in permanent loss of funds. Users and merchants remain solely responsible for reviewing wallet addresses, transaction amounts, blockchain networks, gas fees, smart contract interactions, and transaction approvals prior to authorization.
3 No Chargebacks or Centralized Reversal Mechanisms
Unlike traditional payment systems, blockchain transactions generally do not include chargeback protections, centralized reversal mechanisms, mandatory refund systems, or centralized dispute resolution. CrypTap cannot force merchants or users to reverse completed blockchain transactions. Disputes between merchants and customers must generally be resolved directly between the parties involved.
4 Non-Custodial Infrastructure Risk
CrypTap operates as non-custodial blockchain payment infrastructure. CrypTap does not custody customer funds, custody merchant settlement balances, maintain pooled user accounts, hold deposits on behalf of users or merchants, control customer wallets, or control merchant settlement wallets. Users and merchants maintain sole responsibility for wallet management, blockchain transactions, operational wallet infrastructure, private key security, and asset custody.
5 Device-Based Operational Wallet Risk
Certain CrypTap hardware devices may contain locally generated and locally stored cryptographic keypairs used for operational blockchain interactions. Users and merchants acknowledge and accept that operational device keypairs are generated locally on CrypTap hardware devices during setup, operational device private keys remain locally stored on merchant-controlled CrypTap devices, operational device private keys do not leave the device during ordinary platform operation, and CrypTap cannot access, recover, export, or restore operational device private keys. Loss, corruption, theft, destruction, compromise, or unauthorized access relating to merchant-controlled CrypTap devices may result in failed payment functionality, operational wallet compromise, inability to execute smart contract interactions, permanent loss of operational balances, and interrupted payment flows.
6 Operational Gas Balance Risk
Certain CrypTap functionality may require operational blockchain gas balances associated with merchant-controlled operational wallets. Insufficient gas balances may result in failed payment-intent deployment, failed smart contract execution, delayed blockchain interactions, interrupted payment processing functionality, and degraded platform operation. Merchants remain solely responsible for maintaining operational gas balances, monitoring operational wallet status, and replenishing operational blockchain balances where necessary.
7 Smart Contract Infrastructure Risk
CrypTap may utilize smart contract infrastructure to facilitate payment-intent systems, protocol-level fee processing, blockchain transaction flows, and operational blockchain execution. Smart contracts and blockchain systems may contain vulnerabilities, bugs, exploits, logic failures, design flaws, and unexpected behavior. Smart contract exploits or failures may result in interrupted payment functionality, failed settlement interactions, blockchain execution failure, and partial or total digital asset loss.
8 Merchant & Payment Acceptance Risk
Blockchain confirmation does not necessarily guarantee merchant acceptance, successful order fulfillment, delivery of goods or services, merchant solvency, or completion of merchant obligations. Users interacting with merchants through CrypTap assume risks associated with merchant conduct, refunds, disputes, merchant operational failures, product quality, service quality, and merchant insolvency. CrypTap is not responsible for disputes between merchants and customers.
9 Wallet & Private Key Risk
Users and merchants remain solely responsible for private key security, seed phrase protection, wallet credentials, operational device-wallet security, authentication methods, and device security. Loss, theft, compromise, or unauthorized disclosure of private keys, seed phrases, operational wallet credentials, or device access credentials may result in permanent and irreversible loss of digital assets or operational functionality. CrypTap cannot recover lost wallets, inaccessible accounts, compromised private keys, lost seed phrases, or inaccessible operational device wallets.
10 Merchant Wallet & Device Risk
Merchants remain solely responsible for maintaining accurate payout wallet addresses, securing merchant wallets and devices, maintaining access to operational wallets, securing merchant-controlled CrypTap devices, and ensuring compatible blockchain infrastructure configuration. Merchant configuration errors may result in failed settlement, inaccessible funds, wrong-network transactions, interrupted payment functionality, and permanent asset loss.
11 Device & Hardware Risk
CrypTap hardware devices involve operational and technical risks including hardware malfunction, physical damage, firmware vulnerabilities, unsupported configurations, wireless communication interruption, device theft or loss, device tampering, local key corruption, and operational wallet corruption. CrypTap hardware may involve experimental components, evolving firmware, beta-stage infrastructure, and developing blockchain integrations. Unexpected hardware behavior or incompatibilities may occur.
12 NFC, BLE & Wireless Communication Risk
CrypTap may utilize NFC communication, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), wallet deep linking systems, mobile operating system integrations, and wireless blockchain interaction infrastructure. Wireless communication systems may experience interference, interrupted transmission, failed wallet triggering, unstable connectivity, operating system restrictions, compatibility limitations, and unexpected communication failure. CrypTap does not guarantee uninterrupted compatibility with wallet applications, mobile devices, operating systems, or wireless infrastructure.
13 Cybersecurity Risk
CrypTap and its infrastructure may be subject to cyberattacks, phishing campaigns, malware, social engineering attacks, unauthorized access attempts, infrastructure exploits, and other malicious activity. No security system is impenetrable. Users and merchants remain responsible for their own cybersecurity practices, device security, wallet security, and protection against phishing and social engineering attacks.
14 Third-Party Infrastructure Risk
CrypTap relies upon third-party systems including blockchain networks, wallet providers, RPC providers, cloud infrastructure providers, open-source software, mobile operating systems, and wireless communication infrastructure. CrypTap does not control and is not responsible for third-party infrastructure availability, security, reliability, or functionality. Third-party failures may interrupt or degrade CrypTap Services.
15 Regulatory & Legal Risk
Blockchain technology, digital assets, decentralized systems, smart contract infrastructure, and non-custodial payment systems remain subject to evolving legal and regulatory treatment across jurisdictions. Future regulatory actions, licensing requirements, enforcement actions, legal reclassification, or jurisdictional restrictions may affect the availability, functionality, or legality of CrypTap or the Services.
